Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Koster

Everyone take a few minutes to learn a little bit about my July 09,2016 Newlyweds! Mr. & Mrs. Koster!!

How did you meet? And how long have you dated? Matthew and I met on Match.com. He actually had popped up on my “top matches” numerous days in a row and I thought he was way too “pretty” for me so I never messaged him or sent him anything. I had a photo on my profile of me ( in yoga pants and a warmup jacket) next to a Captain Morgan sign in San Francisco with my leg up next it and he made a comment of ” did you get a little captain in ya?”. From that comment sparked a month of writing back and forth and soon texting. Our first date was June 23rd 2014, one month after we had first started dating and we’ve never looked back. We have been together a year and a half.

Where was your first date? What did you do? He took me to Obed and Isaacs. One of my favorite places to eat at. We had discussed that we had a mutual like for Obed’s and he decided to take me there. We sat in the beer garden and talked for awhile and then we continued the conversation through dinner. I learned about his beautiful daughter Jayde (who has become my world as well) and I pretty much knew this was the guy for me.

How did he propose?Well first off let me tell you, he has been through one wedding already before, so his comments about marriage have always been joking but also somewhat not all about the idea (oh in 5 years or more we will get married, I don’t have to be married, etc). So a week before he proposed, I had given myself a little pep talk about not worrying about it (I am a girl who has dreamed of getting married and having a family, and I knew I wanted it with him) and to just let it happen when it happens. On Christmas day we spent the morning with my family, and then at noon we went and picked up his daughter from her mother (they split Christmas) and we took her home to have our Christmas together. She opened up all of her presents from us and then I gave her presents to have Matthew open up from her. Then he told me she had one for me as well. Well I opened it up and it was wonderful perfume. He then told me she had another, but I had to read the card first and he pulled out this bright red box with a bow. I had to read the card out loud so I began reading the card (little did I know he was taping me). Inside the card, Matthew had written a note to me and then at the bottom had, helped Jayde write ” will you marry my daddy and be my new step mommy?” I immediately started to cry and he opened the box to reveal my gorgeous ring. He asked will you marry us? and in between tears I said yes. (The video is on Facebook)

What are your favorite things to do together? We like to be outside – when its warm (to walk, go to the park, grill out with friends) we like to watch movies together we love to watch sports together (He is a huge Minnesota Vikings fan and I am a die hard Chicago Blackhawks fan) We love to try new food – and try new things He has taken me hunting with him, I have taken him to his first 5K race. We honestly enjoy doing something as little as walking together around the block, to going to Sporting events and traveling. We enjoy any time together.

Any funny stories about yourselves?
One story that comes to mind is even before we met each other. We had been talking on Match for a week or so, and then I hadnt heard from him for a couple of days. So I decided after a weekend to ask how his weekend went and I hope things were good. Well he totally called me out in a response back by telling me he had purposely not written me and that I had epicly failed. Our first hunting trip is a good story (I can share that when we meet) For my first NFL game with Matthew, we dressed up head to toe in Purple and Yellow for the Vikings game, face painted, wigs, everything and we made friends with strangers. It is funny because we were all about it, I think his dad was horrified. THese are just funny things I learned about Matthew early on: I learned early on that he can devour an entire hot dog in one bite ( @ cardinals game) He is very protective of his cotton candy He will leave his socks everywhere and then cannot seem to find one of them when he needs them When he lays on the couch, he has to have a pillow either on his side or on top of him and he always takes his socks off otherwise he is not comfortable. (I am pretty sure there are many stories or fun things we can share with you)

Do you have any pets? If yes, what are their names? We have a 7 month old lab/great dane mix named Mia. We adopted her in August when she was just 8 weeks old.

Question for the GROOM: What things do you love the most about her?

She is kind. She is gentle. She is very encouraging and supportive. She loves and treats my daughter so incredibly well and it makes me love her more. She is very patient. She is caring and kind hearted. She is loving. She always thinks of others, sometimes too much before herself. She has a great laugh (She can snort really nicely lol). I love her because we can have fun and laugh and joke and play.

Question for the BRIDE: What things do you love the most about him?
I love that he is so incredibly supportive. It is an amazing feeling to know that no matter what he will always have my back. I love that he is not afraid to tell me how he feels (Although there are those times I do not appreciate it, I do love that he can be open and just let me know how he feels). I love that no matter how cold my hands and feet are, he will allow me to put them on him so I can stay warm, and he will always cuddle with me too. I love that he has taken the initiative to make sure that no dairy products are in any food that we have out to eat. He takes my lactose intolerance seriously. Even if I have frustrated the crap out of him, I love that he will smile and nod and still go along with my crazy just to appease me. I love that a single hug or kiss can turn my day around. I love when he sends me cute messages just because or when I get pictures of him and Jayde while I am at work because he knows how much they mean to me. I love that I can wear sweat pants and yoga pants around the house and he doesn’t care. I love that when I think I am a total hott mess, he will tell me how beautiful I am. I love that no matter what we always kiss goodnight and kiss goodbye in the morning. There are so many things I love about him that there is just not enough room 🙂
until next time,
